1. Agreement
By downloading or using Saki: Walk the Line (“Saki”), you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. Physical safety comes first
You are responsible for choosing a safe place to use Saki and for remaining aware of your surroundings. Before recording or playing a route:
- Use a clear, well-lit, walkable area with enough space to stop safely.
- Do not play near roads, traffic, stairs, ledges, water, fragile objects, moving machinery or other hazards.
- Do not run, climb, trespass or enter restricted or unsafe areas to follow virtual content.
- Keep the device at a comfortable height, look up regularly and stop immediately if a person, animal or obstacle enters the route.
- Do not use Saki where mobile-device use is prohibited or while driving, cycling or operating equipment.
Children and anyone who needs assistance moving safely should use Saki only with appropriate adult permission and supervision.
3. AR and tracking limitations
AR positioning is an estimate produced from camera and sensor information. It can drift, jump or become less accurate because of lighting, reflective or featureless surfaces, fast movement, blocked camera views, device temperature or hardware limitations. Virtual routes, guides and collectibles may not stay aligned with the physical world.
Saki is a game, not a navigation, accessibility, surveying or safety system. Never rely on virtual content to identify a safe walking surface, obstacle, edge or direction. Pause your own movement and move to a safe position whenever the scene no longer looks reliable.
4. Licence to use the app
Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use Saki for lawful personal entertainment on devices you own or control.
For copies obtained through Apple’s App Store, your licence is also subject to Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, unless Apple presents a valid separate licence. Apple is not responsible for providing Saki support; Yumi Nexus is responsible for the app.
5. Your photos and recordings
You keep your rights in photos and recordings you create with Saki. You are responsible for what you capture, save or share, including obtaining consent where another person appears and respecting privacy, property and intellectual-property rights.
6. Device permissions
Saki requires camera access to provide AR gameplay. Add-only Photos permission is requested when you choose to save a capture. You can change permissions in system Settings, but disabling the camera prevents the core game from working and disabling Photos access prevents direct saving to Photos.
7. Acceptable use
You must not misuse Saki, interfere with its operation, attempt to defeat platform security, use the app to violate law or another person’s rights, or redistribute modified copies except where law expressly permits it.
8. Availability and changes
We may add, change or remove game modes, visual content, tuning ranges or device support as Saki evolves. The app may not work on every device or in every environment, and operating-system changes may affect compatibility. We may discontinue the app or support where reasonably necessary.
9. Consumer rights
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes rights or remedies you have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, Fair Trading Act 1986, or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Except for rights that cannot be excluded, Saki is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Yumi Nexus is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from use of the app. This does not limit liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, personal injury caused by negligence where it cannot lawfully be limited, or anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Saki or legal requirements change. The current version and effective date will appear here. Material changes will be communicated in the app or through another appropriate channel where reasonably practicable.
12. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, without limiting mandatory rights under the law of your place of residence.
